That's not quite the whole picture, but I get the angle. I stand by the assessment I made that he vastly underestimated Putin's retardation, and everything from there was going to be an exercise in him coming to terms with that. He's more than happy to supply the war as long as someone else pays Raytheon for it, and the other NATO members have been stepping up for that, especially now that they get tax credit towards their spending obligations for it. The most important part is that he's popped the glavset bubble he seemed to be swimming in six months ago after getting run around that bush a few times. His commitment to TZD is still woefully lacking, but he's no longer actively trying to force the war to a stop at any cost once he realized that card was thoroughly outside of his hand.
