This. I was about to rant on one of the threads for it. It's a bad game from game making perspective, but not necessarily bad game from enjoyment stand point.

Let me say that I understand that it's a passion project of few devs who clearly enjoy certain aspects of certain games and wish to make their own combining them in one game knowing absolutely jack shit about how to put it all together. There is a lot of passion in game and it's shows and game it self is massive in that regard.

But fuck is it so jank, so tasteless in art, in direction, in world building in level, texture asset design, anything really that involves a personal touch of creativity and taste is missing from this game. For what it's worth it looks like shit and plays barely acceptable, if core mechanics were any more jank it be a god damn chore to even play it. The mashup of all the different game ideas and aesthetics from things like "scp", "warhammer", "half-life", "2-d aesthetics", "darksouls level design", "multiverse", it all seem to be very much that, a mash up, without coherent depth of meaning. Sure they kinda all make sense in this "world" that they've build, but due to lack of solid artistic vision it all looks and feel like surface level clishe that make you cringe in disgust.

Again, I understand it's their (probably) first ever experience in making something like that, but shit, you'd expect at least bare minimum of some standards..
It's a good game for spending a time and playing it because in truth there is nothing like it, but as a "art project" which every game is really, it's quite a disappointment if not an bhorrent one.
