Lots of people living pay check to pay check, hard to afford groceries so they apply to SNAP to get buy, some need housing assistance, help with healthcare...
But unfortunately a lot of those services have been diminished and bringing in illegals stretches funds and resources thin for everybody.
It's not just about helping the illegals, it's about Americans who are already struggling even with support, who now maybe don't get to eat the way they use to bcuz of cuts in SNAP rollouts, and they can't get appointments to see doctors because there's so many on Medicare... Doctors are so overwhelmed, they don't even really treat the patients , but they still get paid...
This is happening and it's horrible.

Democrats wanted the shutdown.
Ultimately I think this falls on Trump. I think it's starving legal Americans and using them as some sort of political pawn. There may be some strategy here more than just some sick class-warfare/capitalist stunt
