It's an 1979 anime, and the Gundam had a Morning Star, Gundam may started/popularized the Real Robot idea, but it was not THAT kind of Hard Sci-Fi, it is very much in the "Artists draws cool idea how he thinks the future will look" Realm.

S1 Gundams and Grunts are great, but honestly the S2 ones are all around downgrades. Exia tend to be pretty fun in games too since it is basically one of the defacto Melee Gundams.

Nyaan is the best, simply the best.
