Not the most exiting or soulful, but neumorphism with gradients and glass effects is likely to be the next big thing in UI design. It also works well with 2.5D or in 3D spaces for integrated AR use.

Personally I like aero and wish that we could have a modern version of it, lots of glass, lots of light and updated skeumorphic elements. But that's not where things are going because that's too hopeful and nice to look at, so we are going to continue to get aesthetics that all the big names end up using because it seems like the professional thing of the time.
