Noble motives. But trying to correct inborn characteristics like neurodivergence or low IQ instead of acknowledging they can't be changed and accomodating handicapped individuals is actually oppresive and harmful. Cognition determines behavior, motives, likes and culture. Genetic characteristics handicapping an individual cannot be changed yet and we don't know if they ever will. And science is clear: IQ is mostly genetic and hardly responds to interventions like better education, well-educated foster parents and better nutrition. Parents to which one is born are the main factor determining one's IQ and other traits like impulsivity or neuroticism. That's why demographics is destiny and that's why we shouldn't try to cure some untreatable characteristics like autism and low IQ but to accept them and accomodate people with them. They're sick of being treated as broken toys. And that's why mass immigration from some countries is so devastating - some things about people just can't be changed.
