Socialism is simply the promotion and prioritization of Social interests. And, if anything, its counterpart isn't Capitalism, but rather Royalism, that which sees people cater to noble families (patricians, the most qualitative) instead of to the people at large (plebeians, the most quantitative). The biggest Anti-Socialists were historically the Royalists, and vice versa. Bismarck vs SPD, Russian "Whites" vs "Reds", etc.
