i really like kappa too, definitely one of the highest effort youtube spec evo so far. hope it gets even more expansive along the way, would like to see more of the oceans and the land regions teased in the biome video. hopefully the author doesn't burn out before that too
biblaridion's alien biosphere is a strong contender for greatest one too, i like both the designs and how focused it was on explaining biology concepts, kinda like after man did. especially bib's theory of obligate sapience is really eye opening, anyone interested in making spec evo projects of any kind should definitely watch that series. only gripe is i wish the early life and ocean life got explored more.
other nice projects were serina before the first cancellation (so before the whole sophont enshittification) when sheather had that ethereal but simple ms paint artstyle, i loved the art in that period. diyu was also very creative and i love me some prehistoric based spec evo
speaking of which there is a severe lack of, wish the dinosaur project and beyond permian got some substantial content before dying
at least there's that new prehistoric manga i can look foward to that seems to tackle the subject of lost species in the fossil record, ehich always intrigued me. picrel, thanks for reading my blogpost
