Yeah, what a way to kill the character. made him almost a joke non-character just like David. It makes him look completely vain and frivolous.
Let me tell you, I don't think any person who legit cared for the other person would IMMEDIATELY jump to another for something as silly as 'running real fast', after literally just getting dumped.

It could maybe work as something that would catch his attention after a while, leading to him approaching David, getting to know him, his personality, and then if he liked him he could maybe try something, but having him immediately fall for David is just stupid.

I agree. James had some potential before, like someone nice, who seemed legit interested in Mike, but instead he just became a gay slut stereotype.
The dude legit fell immediately for David, who is arguably the worst character, in this comic already full of awful characters, just because David can run. I've never seen a more stupid reason.
