>Missed yesterday's talk about a 4th faction
Sucks, but whatever. Since the most popular ideas for a 4th faction always linger on some sort of dissident or rebel group, my pitch was...time traveling Super Earth
>In the distant future, long after SE has won the 2nd Galactic War, technology has only progressed further at the cost of everyone somehow becoming stupider than current SE from the constant stream of propaganda, and such, after reviewing the already heavily altered historical records, they come to the conclusion that present day Super Earth is not really democratic enough, so they decide to build a time machine and travel to the past to fix that by further reinforcing patriotic values on their past selves: us
>They arrive on our time and claim themselves to be the true and better Super Earf, whilst our High Command says the opposite, and each group yells anarchist and traitor to each other as they shit out armies to throw at the meat grinder, being in a way more dangerous than even the squids since they know the ins and outs of our defenses
>A subfaction could be actual dissidents (canon chaosdivers?), regular citizens and troops that, confused, decided to throw in their lot with the "other SE", having defected to their ranks but still using our tools against us
>In the case of a hypthetical Helldivers 3 (lol), they have their work cut out for them since they can have us play the role of Future Super Earth with the enemy faction being HD2's version repurposed into enemies (ie. lazy swiger tricks)
As for units I have no clue but my guess would be that Future SEAF would be chaff while Future Helldivers would be a more dangerous but less common since they still deploy in relatively small numbers and their multiple variants would be akin to the "divisions" we already have with the warbond regiments, and besides enhanced versions of shit we already had on both games, they have more high-concept shit like actual Hellbots or something completely foreign to us
