You'd have a point if it was the only similarity (I mean Wonderful has the honey I shrunk the Precures episode too) but you've got all the other similarities on top of that so it's pretty clear the Smile staff copied Yes 5's homework there.

That's why I said it's visually similar, well save for Akane being orange obviously.
I think the brainwashing episode is the most egregious example because it plays out nearly exactly the same in both with the cures being stuck in a dream world with dead eyes eating snacks and Nozomi/Miyuki ultimately being the one to break the other cures out of the illusion with the help of the main fairy.
But like I said, it's mostly just visual differences, rather than Smile being Yes 5 2.0 it's more accurate to say it recycled a lot of elements from Yes 5 for its own purposes (well, more than the average season does at least).
Again, not a bad thing, but something you notice if you actually pay attention while watching both seasons.
