Its even funnier than you think since they got Christopher Priest AKA THE Black Panther Writer to come back to mainstream comics to make it.
He left mainstream comics because by being black he became the go-to Black Character Writer and resented getting pigeonholed and denied the chance to write on books with white Heroes, so the new Panther is likely his revenge.
