I don't doubt the potential of quantum computers and generative AI, I also don't think that we're at the point where either of those technologies are actually good yet. Early cars sucked fucking shit and constantly broke down requiring on-the-fly repairs for the first 30 years of their existence, eventually they worked out the issues but for most people they just weren't really worth getting into right at the outset. Generative AI is just barely in its infancy stages and quantum computers are only JUST reaching the point where we can even begin to use them usefully. I don't think we're going to start seeing actually impressive stuff using this technology for another 5 - 10 years if I'm being very, very optimistic.
