The Society of Jesus (SJ), a congregation founded in 1534 by Saint Ignatius of Loyola (who died in 1556), a severely wounded former Spanish captain of Jewish descent like all three of the first generals of the Jesuits, is today the largest and most influential order in the Church - to the point that its general is referred to as the 'black pope.' This order served as a model for the establishment of the SS and the NSDAP, with the strict, military-like organization of the Jesuits particularly admired by men who had mostly undergone a strict Catholic education, such as Hitler and Himmler, or like Goebbels and Strasser, who were even former Jesuit students.
