Sadly that's just the nature of every long running general - spawning of namefags and other local characters who treat the threads as some sort of a chat or discord servers. Just look at /vg/ or /a/ if for example.
The best you can do is ignore these attention seeking people and instead give attention to newcomers and people who actually have to say something. Because quite often once a general degrades enough to become a playground for such characters newcomers become ignored in favor of known locals and feel alienated leading to further downward spiraling of a general.
