It's not exactly like it was a prevelant genre before, there's quite a few manga and even a few h-games but outside of when Ranma first aired it was never exactly a big thing for TV anime. Though with the isekai craze I'm suprised there aren't more genderswap ones in the tensei types. That one character from the Spider isekai was one of the most pointless uses of the concept I've ever seen.
