I don't think it's wild at all. They're quite literally the same thing. Dante wasn't coming at it with respect at all. Every single person in Inferno is just people he didn't like being subjected to poetically ironic torture and him going "Ah, yes, he was this much of a shitbag. He deserves this" and his angelic guide agreeing with him
Paradiso is better but it's still masturbatory and absolutely none of it beyond the vague imagery of Gehennah and Lakes of Fire is remotely biblical
If anything I think Hazbin Hotel is a more honest work of fiction because it's not inherently vindictive
