I don't understand the appeal of gacha.

It damn sure isn't the gameplay since they're designed to be grindfests that frustrate you into spending money to speed up the process.

It's not the characters, because there's zero substance to them unless you go digging for it, and even then, you can find better characters literally anywhere else. And it's just their designs, well, porn and fanart are free.
