I can only speak from the brazilian POV but historically speaking D&D gained popularity in the US around the same time the country was in absolute shit. We had just gotten out of a military dictatorship that heavily restricted acess to foreign media and inflation was so fucking bad we changed currencies like 3 times in less than a decade. When D&D became popular here we were already zeitgeisted into buying foreign ideas without properly adapting them or changing them in some way.
A lot of the early brazilian modernist movements spun around the idea of cultural anthrophagy or whatever you call it in english. It's the idea that all culture is inevitably somewhat assimilated into another one as they both bend and mash into each other together. Brazilian modernism wasnt supposed to be just a carbon copy of the european version but incorporate elements of brazilian living and culture to it because that's the enviroment artists here lived. It was a time of rapid adaptation and cultural outgrowth based around a latin american cultural heritage that valued its own identity and thought critically of its own culture while still romanticizing it somewhat. Since than foreign forces have tried their absolute fucking hardest to shut that line of thought down completely by just straight up making us consoooooom buttloads of american culture while trying our absolute fucking best to replicate whatever those pigs were doing at the time. We were LITERALLY forced to copy their education system, watch their shows, eat from their brands and so on during the cold war which absolutely killed any sense of patriotic endeavouring. So no, we won't have our own D&D, we will play foreign D&D and fucking enjoy it, we won't even have the grace to name our characters Pedro or Juan we will have to name them Thomas Mcson or Agatha Winston or some shit like that, people willing cuck themselves to the US nowadays and if you claim anything else other than that you will get laughed at.
