I just find something I wanna learn about, either from Youtube or whatever and then I google around, read wiki articles, look for papers on google scholar and so on. For programming or game development there are usually blogs and stuff too.

I think they just want to be with their owners, mostly. So long as they get to be near you, I'm sure they're happy. So you just gotta go outside if they're outside :).
