This latest Superman/DC incarnation was too cartoony. There's no weight or fall damage to anything, So it feels like nothing that happens in this universe matters. If Pa Kent had been sucked up in a tornado in this universe he would have been shown flying across a corn field yelling YEEEEEEAAAAA and then landing in the field complaining that his backside hurt.
As I write this it also reminds of of the first Peter Jackson Hobbit movie that was ful chock full of cartoon level cgi and no fall damage and it felt like nothing mattered and the movie was completely forgettable just like this Superman movie.
