At this rate I'm not sure Nithry is going to have a good month. I intentionally left the duration of Eigen's isolation ambiguous, but it's been about two years. As for the eusociality of the Fyrix, I've considered it myself when starting this work, and I've decided that they're more communal than strictly eusocial. Obviously I'm intentionally mirroring some aspects with figures like the Apex as well as the caste system, but in my mind, individuality on some level is necessary for the leap to this sort of distributed intelligence, and so the Fyrix developed into an odd mix of the two. They're definitely more communal than humans, but they're also paradoxically less intimate than humans.
In their evolution, I started with a semisocial species close to eusociality (Sharing nests and dividing labor) and put them through a mass extinction of their usual habitat which forced them to roam more and become more individualistic, as well as favoring intelligence during their development until they learned to cultivate their only source of food. Fyrix can tolerate isolation, but definitely to a lesser degree than humans. When your entire life revolves around a social rat race, the absence of it entirely would make them extremely restless. The degree that Eigen's suffered would definitely come as a shock.

Wow, you post here! I love the insect stuff you've been drawing recently, (I'm biased) I can appreciate a good Turian though
