They asked if there was a commotion here and what exactly happened.

"Sir!" One of them said, saluting. "A moment, if you will."

They requested you come with them. However they weren't able to take you anywhere, since most of your wives practically burst into the courtyard all saying something different at once.

"Master! What the heck happened?!?!" You heard Herta say.

"You all dare to make demands of a man as glorious as my Master, John Doe?" Gerty said with steel in her voice against the guards. "Against a man whose presence none of us are worthy of being in?"

"You're not gonna push my Master around!" Bertha said with a huff. "Not while I'm around!"

Chaos threatened to break loose, but a simple command from your lips stills the fury and outrage of your wives. Though there is still a clear amount of distrust that they show.

From a corner of the courtyard you see Mel reappear. Her invisibility was almost perfect, rendering her near imperceptible even when looking for her with any magical senses. A shining dagger is in her hand, quickly vanishing from view. She gave you a thumbs up. With such a powerful artifact she could doubtlessly kill as many people as she wished here, and only revealed herself to give you more options.

The woman, who introduces herself as Marigold, begins by telling the guards to stand down and had them return to their posts, much to the relief of your slave-wives.

Explanations are done by both you and Aila, the elf woman mostly followed whatever you said with vehement agreement. Aila, with a start, realized she had to go to class still. After getting permission from Todred and Marigold, the elf woman bolted away.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly, until Gerty mentioned the fact that you were a Savant, which was then followed by Cattleya agreeing that you deserved respect for that.

Marigold's countenance immediately became darker, gaining a sudden hostility towards you. This hostility was then extended to Herta after the goddess declared that she was also 'a super strong Savant, too!'.

You almost felt like Marigold was gonna call the guards again and kick you out, but then Todred came to the rescue and asked her to be reasonable. This led to a small argument between them.

"I saw that tall fae wife of his with a Todeskurzschwert. Such an artifact implies a connection to the Thieves' Guild." Said Marigold, in one of these arguments.

"I sincerely doubt that, for multiple reasons." Todred said to her. "The foremost being my own knowledge of magical signatures. You know I have pioneered some of the best detection spells around, and some of the most modern alarm systems to warn of such things."

"No, I'm sure-"

"Believe me, it wasn't. You have had such difficult days recently, the stress must be getting to you. Now, I'm certain your Master will wish to see you again. He hasn't had much of a reprieve either."
