Eastern religion, specifically Buddhism, is pretty much just philosophical monism. It's a thought process where we have everything we need to know within. However, it doesn't apply to the reality we're living in. We don't consist of the whole universe or multiverse, our capabilities are limited which requires us to reach outwards. This is where the scientific method comes in.
