Pretty depressing how bonfire night has been relegated from a popular authentic tradition steeped in history to another generic fireworks display that could pass for any other event
The local aspect of it disappears to, becoming increasingly rare to have bonfires at the local primary school or pub carpark
In fact it's become so generic that in certain areas they lump it in with other celebrations such as Diwali
Even that's at risk with the relentless battle against fireworks we see every year
