>Lussier & Farmer’s script featured Johnny Blaze being recruited by a secret society known as "The Cabal" to assist their agent Clara Simonescu to retrieve the skulls of the previous Ghost Riders before evil warlock Zodiak, who seeks to harness their power for himself. Zodiak is aided by Deacon Gray, Blaze’s former best friend who became a revenant after being briefly subjected to the Ghost Rider’s Penance Stare, and now wants revenge.
>Eva Mendes was approached to return Roxanne Simpson, but declined.
>Eva Longoria was considered for Nadya Ketch before Violante Placido was cast.
>Timothy Olyphant was considered for Blackout before Johnny Whitworth was cast.
