I don't like that global chats devolve into 24/7 cheap bait shitposting. But with smaller communities like private servers it is certainly less of an issue.

That sounds like a lot of fun. A good mix of old-style player ran shops and convenience of the marketboard.
I think one of the biggest downfalls of modern mmos was the desire to grow and be MASSIVE. Like 2k active players per server create much more lively and social atmosphere than 100k of strangers that never forced to talk and cooperate because other players are basically bots in your personal single player MMO.
