The faithful prophets of the OT spoke about the promised and coming Messiah. The torch of this covenant is passed on to those who accept this Messiah sent by God.
Why would a people who don’t accept Christ be in His Kingdom? Do they even want to? All they have to do is embrace Christ.

Christ told us to beware the leaven of the Pharisees, He already knew and knows everything they were doing then and what it would lead to in the future/present.
