Russian Drone Attack Leaves Five Settlements Without Power in Ukraine's Kirovohrad Region
A Russian drone attack overnight on Oct. 14 damaged critical infrastructure in Ukraine's central Kirovohrad region, leaving five settlements without electricity and disrupting local rail services, Ukrainian officials reported.
The attacks targeted facilities in the Dolynska and Novoprazhska communities, causing fires at several locations, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU). All blazes have since been extinguished.
"Preliminarily—no casualties. There is damage to buildings," the head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, Andriy Raikovych, said in a statement.
Emergency services deployed 34 rescuers and seven units of equipment to the scene to manage the aftermath of the strikes. Ukraine's national railway operator also reported that several suburban train routes in the region were altered or temporarily canceled due to the attack.
