It being rigged is honestly the only good, subtle writing in the entire xpac, because of COURSE the Xbr'aal would do everything in their power to deny their ancestral enemy, the Mamool Ja, the throne of the Dawnservant.
The problem is, you KNOW the writers weren't doing that intentionally and don't see it as rigged at all.
