It worked but it was a monkey's paw like the Persona fans that got in for P4. That was the only thing they knew about the franchise and they kept on riding high on mount stupid for years talking shit all the time, and getting smacked also all the time.
Engage reduced the waifuslop just a bit, FE18 will most likely to keep decreasing it. That'll keep happening until Nintendo threatens IS again that they'll can the IP and they'll deliver another FE following whatever trend is cool by that time to lure tourists in.
