I just finished The Knights of Dark Renown by David Gemmell, and I'm fairly certain Elden Ring lifted a bunch of concepts from this book. Perhaps Dark Souls as well. There are too many parallels to be mere coincidence. If anyone is interested, I'll go into detail. But be warned that it's impossible to do so without spoiling events. The book is actually fairly good. If you're into dark fantasy and sword and sorcery you'll probably like this one. So best to read it if you haven't already.

I did a quick search, and don't see anyone else making the association between this book and Elden Ring and Dark Souls. So I might be the first one to do so. The book would make for great material for anyone running one of those game lore youtube channels.
