I have an acog and I'm thinking about selling it. I think it's a better combat optic than a red dot and I'd rather have an acog for combat, but I can't think of a scenario other than literally red dawn or like a long term disaster where shit doesn't go back to normal for like over a year where I'd actually need the features that make an acog better over a red dot which is easier to use at ranges/in scenarios where self defense would be legal. Plus my red dot is lighter and doesn't get washed out by the wml.
I still think an acog kicked the shit out of irons for HD/self defense ranges and in shitty lighting conditions like inna house.

I will say, a major issue with the acog is if you are in a dark room looking into a lighter room or if you are in the dark and use a white WML the reticle doesn't illuminate and without the illumination finding and using the reticle is significantly worse than a red dot. with the illumination, even with the 4x shooting indoors is ok and superior to using irons

What's the actual intended range for the ACOG? not like the
>you can hit out to 800 meters, see the lines
not the
>you shoot out to 600 meters on a KD range
not the
>you can detect and identify out to x meters
like what was the intended range for scoring hits in combat with the optic?
