Millenial boomer teacher here. You have to understand that Zoomers are way more autistic, on average, than previous generations. Remember that they:

- Experienced almost no offline childhood
- Rely more on parasocial relationships
- Grew up through peak woke (i.e., “mean words and body language are violence”)
- Had COVID lockdown during more psychologically formative years
- Have lower test levels (true for every successive generation of men)
- Have sex less frequently, if at all (higher virginity rated)
- Go out less, party less (including drinking)

Face-to-face human interactions, especially with strangers, genuinely cause them a lot of anxiety. Unironically, they would rather just cede you a machine than have to negotiate a longer conversation with you. I try to be a little extra nice to any Zoomer I talk to; they seem truly fucked up and it makes me kind of sad.
