These ambition modes would drastically impact AI behavior.
>Content characters are passive; they do not join factions, start wars, or plot to murder people; they are simply enjoying life.
>Longing characters are active; they do typical AI things
>Depressed characters are defeatist; while they might join factions or fight wars, they engage in things like adultery/drinking. More importantly, they have a habit of giving up; they might accept faction ultimatums and surrender wars early.
† For Ambition mode to work, the personality traits of Content, Ambitious, and Melancholic would have to be removed
Now that Ambition-modes are explained, let's go into ambitions themselves. There should be two types of ambitions, grand ambitions and petty ambitions.
Petty ambitions would be simple ambitions for unlanded characters, while grand ambitions would be complex goals for the rulers themselves.
Petty ambitions would resemble the CK2's ambition system, but with more nuanced ambitions. Petty ambitions would be things like:
>Marry an attractive man
>Visit distant X-place
>Find faith
>Obtain title with a claim
>Revenge
Here is a case example of how this would work.
>Your unmarried daughter has a petty ambition of "Marry an attractive man"
>If you marry an attractive man, her ambition mode changes from Longing to Content, and she will not cheat on her husband
>However, if you marry her to a 50-year-old hunchbag king, her ambition fails and her mood changes to Depressed.
>As a depressed person, she might cheat, become depressed, and/or commit suicide

>Cont 2/3
