Genocide all Ironborn above the level of mud farming peasant and repopulate the middle and upper classes with 2nd and 3rd sons from loyal mainland noble houses, with Stannis as their overlord, being granted the Iron Islands as his and his ancestor's demesne.

This solves the problem of Dragonstone, which has to go to Robert's 1st born son and heir to the Iron Throne and gives his brother Stannis his own lands, titles, incomes and bannermen.

It puts a loyal branch of House Baratheon on the west coast of Westeros opposite the Lannister controlled Westerlands and provides for a strong naval force to counterbalance House Tyrell and Redwine.
