I really hate this argument that pops up whenever somebody is faced with the knowledge that indeed, 99% will fail in their artistic endeavours whether it be film music or vidya and will never become big and famous, where some retard goes "all those who failed were actually low effort slop, if you make something good it will stand out!" and posts the worst shit imaginable as if it's exemplary of the bottom 99%, as if all those who died in obscurity were lazy fucks who just didn't bother trying, it's the most childishly naive thing in the world
the fact that many great artists and works were only recognized many years after their deaths should immediately tell you that there's a lot more to success than "just make good product lol"
not to say you should just give up, but rather you should be aware of your odds and not get heartbroken when your game flops while you watch untalented retards succeed
