it's real gun but without ammo
asriel/flowey got "just" six souls and even then became a god, we couldn't defeat, only to talk sense into. Even with one soul Asgore (Which was probably most powerful monster, he even survived human monster war) probably could take a sizable force of attacking humans, absorb their souls and then it's all over for humanity
