I've been through it a few times, the last one really shook me and I've been pretty withdrawn since. I gave it my all at 150% for nothing, the only silver lining was the schadenfreude I got to experience when I got to see them treated the same way I was by their next fling. Since then I've found it hard to show interest in anyone, even just as friends. That relationship took something deep inside me that I don't know I'll ever get back.
