Nanoka's lines in the first panel here work for me without ruining the dramatic tension, but they originally were just なわけない･･･ひどいケガ (Na wake nai hidoi kega) or "No way... a serious injury". Admittedly, なわけない does seem to be a somewhat "casual" expression, so VIZ might've just hit the nail on the head with the localization.

Also, this page feels really striking to me. Bottom panel especially.
