You should do it, Greece is amazing and relatively cheap. There are 300 islands that are inhabited but the coast is also good. I go there every summer - It's my favorite country along with The Netherlands. Food is incredible.

The only giant lake I've been with was in Ohrid Macedonia and it was nice, felt like being at sea.
