I can't quite put my finger on it but it's more than his lack of a Duchenne smile, which is what most people think of as a 'full, genuine smile'. There's something else but I'm not sure if it's in the eyes or somewhere else in his face. As they say, eyes are the window of the soul...but they're also a window into psychiatric conditions, too. So is the smile, and I think that's the other thing that bugs me about him. He smiles like I saw all my nieces and nephews smile when they were little kids: A kind of joyless clenching of teeth and pulled back lips.
