Democrats' demands amid the shutdown:
1. Less renewal time in any potential CR, allowing another potential shutdown to begin prior to the end of the month
2. Expansion and extension of COVID spending including subsidies for insurance companies which do not count toward the "profit cap" established under Obamacare, effectively making the govt choose insurance companies' levels of profit and determine which companies have the highest profits for all eternity (or until repeal?) and expansion of Obamacare funding for insurance companies
3. Expansion of tax credits created under Obamacare, reduction of means testing, abolition of means testing maximum caps on income related to Obamacare tax credits, and extending all expiring Obamacare provisions which are not actually expired or set to expire within the current fiscal year for all eternity.
4. Including revival of defunct govt programs in the bill by extending funding for all of Obama's and Biden's programs which expired in the last five years. One of these is unironically a program to reroute USDA funding from rural areas to elderly inner city minorities, based on the idea that old people pruning their old trees is a form of agriculture.
5. Obamacare, CHIP, and Medicaid for illegal aliens, H1Bs, and other immigrants, as well as repeal of the BBB's subtitle addressing "Health," massively increasing government spending, restoring loopholes used to funnel govt health money to illegals, etc. The total cost of the single provision repealing Subtitle B of the BBB is believed to exceed $300 billion dollars.
6. Cutting funding for Medicare in 2026 (not even part of this year+wouldn't lose funding without the cut! And why even cut funding for Medicare? To blame him for accepting your own demand? Wtf?)
7. Billions in foreign aid
Does anybody think we're seriously going to do ANY of this bull? They're already poisoning the well from the getgo here! Who gives all of this away for a single month with no shutdown?
