The murder isn't even why I don't like him. He's a lying sack of shit with no soul. He could have won automatically at any fucking point by just making the trade for the eyes himself, and that's why Melo's sacrifice, a sort of "Cain redeemed" character, is the thing that ultimately catches him.
That's why he can't be God, and any world that he was God of would eventually fall to rot. Pretending to be God while making a fucking mockery of sacrifice, willing to let anyone but himself make the trade, is the ultimate form of hubris.
