Took my new 640 to the range for the first time. Shooting .38 is real comfy because of the weight of the gun. I shot some .357 critical duty and cut my hand pretty good, but it was easy to control and keep on target, so that’s what I’m going to use as my carry ammo at least until I get some pissin’ hot buffalo bore loads.
.357 from a fun this small is hilarious loud. It’s truly an experience. The off the shelf defensive .357 loads have roughly 85% more energy than .38+p from an 1.875” snub nose. If you can deal with carrying the extra weight then it’s hard to pass on those numbers.
