Tomoko is not shameless and desperate
At least she's trying to find a purpose in life instead of just giving up on everything after what happened (and realistically she should have been an actual Persona user, the whole gimmick at the beginning of the story is "people are losing their desire to do anything anymore" and despite that she puts herself in danger for a friend)
