I think it's a form of sexual aggression. A lot of women entered game development, especially in writing. One thing about women is they hate other women, especially if they are more attractive. So I think what we are seeing is just the natural result of quite a few women in the production pipeline being sexually threatened by attractive female characters. They want all female characters to be ugly and mid so the ugly mid girls out there don't feel unwanted. They specifically don't want to do anything to benefit the male gaze, or cater to male games, especially straight male gamers. So they overcorrect by making all women in games butt-ugly, fat, and ambiguous.

If men were left to their own designs, you would never see an ugly woman in videogames. We would have endless 10/10 athletic, big-titted Lara Crofts with guns. We would never see a fat mullato with splotchy skin and a face like fetal alchohol syndrome meets downs syndrome. Nobody wants to buy a videogame about a fat ugly wallmart slag. We want big titty athletic sluts and we don't care if it hurts the fee-fees of the small titty feminist karens who work in games these days.
