I think the next "internet" will be truly decentralized.

Bulky phones that connect to the nearest one (1km max)
and leap frogs so at least everyone on a continent is connected, and each phone saves random GB of info.
So no one controls the towers/satellites, and there are no servers.

These "phones" just have to be built and mass produced. They just need the same basic software and hardware for wireless connections.
