>Marie & Lee are arguing over something without May involved
>May is just sitting in the living room watching whatever's on
Marie and Lee can rough house about abusive or physical assault in the "name of love" while May is more of a bystander to the fight. This introduction is critical to the ending of the eps.
>I don't really know how to characterize Sarah's reaction.
Because of the status quo the show maintains (allowing it to be watched in any order), Sarah's default reaction to May is scared shitless. But once May makes her plea to get along with the sister. Sarah uses her cunning to double the ammount of bullying she does to her brother with May as a backup bullier.
Now, the freedom you have to take with the direction is entirely up to you. Some examples of entertaining sequences of events:
1. Ed runs away and both Sarah and May start blaming each other as to the cause of Ed's disapperance.
2. Edd and Eddy hatch a plan where they summon Lee and Marie to May's location to get her to return home.
3. Sarah goes to far with the physical abuse and May gets second thoughts about what it means to be a loving friend. (My personal choice)
4. Jimmy gets cast aside for the new "better" friend and then works with the Eds to destroy May's attempts of sister-ship with Sarah (I feel like the showrunners would go this route)
5. Ed gets put in an ultimatium where May and Sarah realize they can't stand each other. And now Ed is forced to choose between following directions from Sarah or from May. Both having similarly grim consequences.
