Sorry, I forgot to reply to the first part of your post. It's not something that Wizards would permit, but then again we don't need Wizards permission to do anything; the event is run as proxy friendly at a non WPN store, and at request of the TO I aimed to keep the promos in line with the feel of the original art for each card, but make them obviously proxies. I get a guy in China to print them for about 10 cents each and the backs are plain white too, so there's no confusion.
